Caregiver – JAPAN (JFT / N4 & Prometric REQUIRED)


The aging population in Japan is creating a worker shortage in many areas, but even more in the nursing care industry. With a prediction of one in every three Japanese over 65 years old in 2030, nursing homes and professional caregivers are highly in demand.

How many Filipino caregivers are there in Japan?

To date, there are now 3,378 Filipino Nurse and Certified Careworker Candidates under this program since the first deployment in 2009. Details of future recruitment will be posted in the POEA/DMW website once the hiring period for the year begins.

Job Description

  • Assist patients with their activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, grooming, etc).
  • Help patients transfer from bed to wheelchair, and vice versa.
  • Perform other tasks that will improve the patient’s well being and safety


A minimum of 1 year(s) of working experience is required.

No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.

  • (MUST HAVE / REQUIRED / NON-NEGOTIABLE) — JFT Basic A2 / JLPT N4 or higher
  • (MUST HAVE / REQUIRED / NON-NEGOTIABLE) — Nursing Care Prometric
  • Ex-EPA’s and Ex-Trainees/Ex-Technical Interns are also very much welcome to apply.
